The committee also recommended a hefty increase in the vehicle loan from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. The amenities committee suggested hike in pension for the MLAs and MLCs. It was hiked from Rs 50,000 to Rs 65,000 per month.

The medical assistance to the legislators would be made limitless. The beneficiaries of the pay hike include ex-legislators and widows of former law-makers. This would result in over Rs 100 crore additional burden on the exchequer.
