TDP Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy created a flutter by making sensational comments on 'Rayala Telangana' and 'special status' to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters today, Mr Reddy, a Congress strongman from Anantapur who switched to TDP just before 2014 general elections, said that had the Centre created "Rayala Telangana" state after bifurcation of United Andhra Pradesh, the Rayalaseema region would not have subjected to injustice that is being meted out today.
It may be recalled that JC strongly demanded formation of Rayala Telangana state by including four districts of Rayalaseema with 10 districts of Telangana, while in Congress when then UPA government appointed Sri Krishna committee to study on bifurcation of AP.
However, the Congress high command ignored the demand made by JC then.
JC told media that if Rayala Telangana was created then, people in Rayalaseema would have been happier today and would not have face the problems they are facing currently with AP government focussing entirely on Amaravathi and coastal Andhra region for development activities.
JC also went a step ahead and stated that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union minister from TDP, Sujana Chowdhary knew very well that AP will not get 'special status' but still pretended ignorance by making assuances on getting special status.
