Jagan To Shuffle His Cabinet After MLC Polls

If the talk in Tadepalli is to be believed, the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to shuffle the cabinet after the impending MLC elections.

The MLC election notification has been issued, and the election for nine local bodies seats, three graduates' seats, and two teachers' seats are scheduled for polling on March 13.

There are another seven MLC seats from the Assembly quota for which elections are to be held, and the notification is likely to come anytime soon.

Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to shuffle his cabinet once the elections are over.

According to the sources, the Chief Minister wants to have at least three MLCs in his next cabinet. So far, only MLAs are part of the cabinet.

Going by the caste equations and other obligations, Jagan Mohan Reddy plans to have the new MLCs elected and include at least three of them in the cabinet.

However, it is not known who would be dropped from the present cabinet if the Chief Minister intends to induct MLCs into the cabinet.

Sources say that the Chief Minister is not happy with at least half a dozen ministers who were taken into the cabinet in the last reshuffle.

The MLC elections would bring down the opposition TDP’s strength to a single digit, and the majority of the loud mouths from the TDP are set to vacate their seats this time.

Nara Lokesh is vacating his seat on March 29, 2023, among others, making the Legislative Council one-sided like the Legislative Assembly.
