Jagan To Go All Out To Rejuvenate Party!

The ruckus in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly over denial of proper time to YSR Congress party president and Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the suspension of some MLAs following the incident gave ample opportunity to the party to get back its lost glory.

YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy has decided to step up the agitation against the TDP government in the coming days by taking up a series of programmes. The party will organize a bus yatra to Pattiseema, Polavaram and Pothireddipadu projects from March 26.

“We tried to highlight the woes of the farmers on the floor of the Assembly. But, the Speaker had cut the mike and refused to heed to our appeals for being allowed to speak. Hence we decided to boycott the session. We felt that we would not be given an opportunity inside the Assembly to give voice to the woes of the people. So, we have decided to go to the people and inform them about the wrongdoings of the Government,” party senior leader Jyothula Nehru said.

Immediately after the meeting, the YSRCP MLAs marched towards the Assembly to stage a protest. YSRCP MLAs said the struggle would continue till the Speaker sees reason.

“We have taken this decision as the Government is muzzling our voice. Hence we have decided to go to the people to highlight the challenges like the Polavaram project, Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and the Pothireddypadu Head regulator. We shall take out a bus yatra from Thursday with all the 67 party MLAs to visit all these sites and to sensitise the people,” Nehru said.

He alleged that Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao is behaving in the most partisan manner and has become a tool in the hands of the ruling party.

“Hence the party has decided to move a no-confidence motion against the Speaker”, the YSRCP leader said.
