YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday sprang a surprise on the political observers when he made an unexpected visit to the ashram of Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy at Muchintal near Shamshabad.
It appeared a pre-planned visit, as he was received by noted realtor of My Home Group Jupalli Rameshwar Rao and taken into the ashram.
Rameshwar Rao is considered to the right hand of Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and in fact, the Muchintal ashram in 100 acres was donated by Rao himself.
Jagan, along with his close aides including V Vijay Sai Reddy, had an hour-long discussion with Swamiji on the political developments in Andhra Pradesh and also the challenges being faced by the party.
He sought Swamiji’s blessings for his proposed padatra from November 2. All through the meeting, Jagan did not wear shoes or chappals and after the meeting, he touched the feet of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, who wished him all the best and conveyed his blessings.
Apparently, Jagan had deferred his padayatra from October 27 to November 2 only on the suggestions of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, since it would be auspicious to start the padayatra in the Margasira Maasam.
It appears Jagan wants to erase the Christian tag by approaching the Hindu seers and seeking their blessings. His party leaders have already been performing marathon Chandi Homam, which would go on till the next assembly elections.
It is not exactly known whether the latest strategies are a part of Jagan’s attempts to get closer to the BJP. May be he wants to leave no stone unturned to wriggle out of the court cases before the next elections.
