Hyderabad: Even as the state prepares for elections, the new developments in the Titanium scam have become a talking point for politicians and political parties.
The timing could not have been more appropriate for adding spice to the already controversy-ridden politics within the state.
Speaking to the media persons at his party headquarters in the city on Thursday, Lok Satta head JP said stringent measures should be taken against those involved in the Titanium scam.
He said that he had read newspaper reports stating that Congress MP KVP Ramchandra Rao was involved in brokering deals involving $18.5 million. He called upon the investigation bureaus to take swift action against KVP and others involved in the scam.
But JP surprised the scribes by feigning ignorance about the court rulings against Chandra Babu’s alleged benami and close aide Yelamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary popularly known as Sujana Chowdary.
He said he did not read reports about Chowdary laundering Rs 102 crores involving a Mauritius Bank. He said the court ruling against Chowdary did not appear in the newspapers that he subscribed to (Read Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy).
