Drama continues: TDP to continue in NDA!

Nothing unusual has happened and heavens did not fall, as projected by the pro-Telugu Desam Party media.

The ruling party in Andhra Pradesh headed by N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to continue in the NDA at least for now.

As anticipated, a big drama was enacted at the Vundavalli residence of Naidu where he convened a meeting of the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party meeting to discuss the fall out of the Central budget and give directions to the MPs how to go about in getting what is due to the state.

Though leaks from inside to the media indicated that Naidu wanted the MPs to put up a strong fight inside and outside Parliament, Union minister of state for science and technology Sujana Chowdary behaved in front of the media as if nothing had happened.

“It is very routine for the party president to hold the TDPP meeting before the Parliament session. Since he was in Davos, Naidu could not convene the meeting last week. Now, we have met to discuss the issues pertaining to the state,” he said.

He, however, said the meeting discussed the raw deal meted out to Andhra Pradesh in the Union budget presented on Thursday.

“Many issues pertaining to the state are pending resolution with the Centre. First we will negotiate with the Centre to resolve all these issues. If there is still no positive response from the Centre, we will decide then as to what we can do. As of now, nothing is happening,” he said.

He said the TDP MPs would raise the issue of injustice done to the state in Parliament and demand that the Centre release funds due to the state.

“We shall bring pressure on the Centre to achieve our due,” Chowdary said.
