There is a strong rumour among TDP circles that film star and MLA Balakrishna has turned down Chandra Babu’s offer of making him a minister.
Till about two days back, Balakrishna had maintained that he would abide by the High Command’s decision.
He had also clarified that he was ready to take up any role in the party. But the latest reports from within TDP say that Balakrishna had refused to become a minister in Babu’s cabinet.
In the past, some groups within TDP had spread rumours that Balakrishna would be made an MP. But Balakrishna insisted on becoming an MLA.
Now, the latest story is that Balakrishna has refused to take up minister’s post. However, this is not due to differences between Balayya and Babu.
Apparently, with Legend becoming a huge hit, Balakrishna is keen to continue in films for some more time. Also, he is nearing the 100-film mark. So, it is hardly surprising that he wants to concentrate on films at this juncture.
On the other hand, there are others who believe that the rumours are being spread to influence the thinking of Balakrishna so that he will stay off the cabinet berth.
