Court To Decide Jagan Fate On Oct 23

It will take another three days to get a clarity on whether YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will get exemption from appearing before the CBI special court every Friday so that he can take out the padayatra without any hassles.

The CBI special court on Friday heard the arguments on the petition filed by Jagan seeking six months exemption from attending the court proceedings in the wake of his padayatra.

His counsel argued that there was a provision in the law for giving exemption from the trial proceedings under exceptional circumstances.

The CBI, however, submitted a counter petition opposition Jagan’s arguments and said he was only trying to delay the trial process. After hearing both the sides, the court reserved the judgement to October 23.

Jagan has already announced that he will commence his marathon padayatra from November 2. The padayatra will continue for six months, covering 3000 km distance in as many as 120 constituencies.

He will kickstart his yatra from his Idupulapaya estate in Kadapa district and from there to Tirupati and will proceed towards coastal Andhra to end up at Ichchapuram on Andhra-Odisha border.

The party leaders are gearing up to go ahead with the yatra, irrespective of the court verdict. Meanwhile, Jagan is also getting physically and mentally prepared to launch the padayatra.

Besides undergoing a lot physical exercises to gain the strength, he has also changed his food habits so that he would not face any troubles during the yatra, party sources said.
