Irrigation minister T Harish Rao’s threat to disclose the involvement of the Congress leaders in the Miyapur land scam seems to have boomeranged on him.
The Congress leaders have challenged Harish to order a CBI inquiry into the land scam and prove the allegations against them.
“Let the government order a CBI inquiry and take stringent action against all those involved in the scams and murky deals, including those from the Congress, if the charges are proved. We are not frightened. In fact, we shall welcome it,” Congress MLCs Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and Mohd Shabbir Ali said.
They said it had been proved several times that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other ministers only made statements and challenges without converting them into actions.
They cited one such challenge of KCR against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, stating that “Even Lord Brahma cannot save him from going into jail in the cash for vote episode”.
“What happened to this challenge? Did Lord Brahma save Naidu? What has happened on similar probes on Eamcet and on Nayeemuddin?” they asked.
