CLP in Telangana council merged in TRS!

CLP in Telangana council merged in TRS!

As expected, chairman of Telangana state legislative council K Swamy Goud approved the merger of Telangana Congress Legislature Party in the council with Telangana Rashtra Samithi with immediate effect.

The council chairman took the decision within hours of four Congress MLCs – Akula Lalitha, M S Prabhakar Rao, T Santosh Kumar and K Damodar Reddy, submitting him a letter stating that they had held a meeting of the so-called CLP and resolved to merge it with the TRS legislature party.

In his notification in the evening, the council chairman said the merger was approved under paragraph 4 of the tenth schedule of the Constitution of India.

He also declared that hereafter, all the four MLCs would be treated as the TRS MLCs and would be allotted seats accordingly.

Obviously Swamy Goud is under instructions from the “big boss” and he did not take into consideration the representation given by Telangana PCC president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy and leader of opposition in the council Mohammad Shabbir Ali, stating that the four MLCs had no right to conduct the CLP meeting without informing the party.

At the same time, the council chairman would go ahead with the disqualification of the four TRS MLCs who had defected to the Congress before elections.

Since the TRS has 32 members in the council, these MLCs cannot gain the right to defect to the Congress and hence, they would be disqualified.

It clearly shows that the TRS is aiming at a Congress-free legislative council in the coming days!
