Afraid of Jagan, Naidu focusing on Telangana!

Why is Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu focusing so much on the Telangana assembly elections scheduled to be held on December 7?

According to Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and state home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Naidu was coming to Telangana by forging an alliance with the Congress party, as he was afraid of facing YSR Congress party president and Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

“He has no business to come to Telangana to play politics. He is just trying to safeguard his party’s identity,” the minister said.

Apparently, Naini wants to convey the message that the TDP is planning to enjoy power in either of the two states.

Since the TDP is unlikely to come to power in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 assembly elections, Naidu is of the hope that his party would be able to enjoy power at least in Telangana if the Maha Kootami comes to power in the Friday’s elections.

“If Naidu loses power in AP, he can at least run the government by proxy in Telangana. He may not be in the chief minister’s position, but his party will be part of the Telangana government, if Maha Kootami comes to power and so, he can give directions to the Congress government through his ministers in the Telangana cabinet,” a TRS leader said.

That is precisely, the TRS is strongly resisting the entry of the TDP chief into Telangana. As long as the TDP is in opposition, even with two or three seats, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao did not mind. But with the TDP joining hands with Congress and trying to grab power in Telangana, KCR is firing all cylinders at Naidu!
