Yet another criminal case against Naidu!

The Andhra Pradesh police on Tuesday filed yet another criminal case against Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly making statements creating a fear psychosis among the people of the state on Coronavirus pandemic.

The case was filed at Arundelpet police station in Guntur town, following a complaint lodged by Pachala Anil Kumar, a local advocate in the district court.

According to the complaint, Naidu and his party leaders made different statements about the second wave of Coronavirus in the state, due to a new variant of the virus -- N440K originated in AP, which they said was 10 to 15 times more dangerous and its rate of spread was very high, leading to significant loss of human lives.

“This is an irresponsible and erroneous statement, which caused a great deal of agony, and pain to the people. The people of the state are planning to leave for the other states due to fear of death and people from other states are not willing to come to AP,” Kumar pointed out.

He said though Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology report specified that the N440K variant was not much dangerous, Naidu deliberately intended to create panic in the minds of people in this pandemic situation by spreading canards and distorted versions.

“The state and district administration is taking every mas possible to fight the second wave of corona virus, but the TDP chief’s statement has demoralized them,” the complainant said.

The case was booked under Sections 188, 505 (1) (b) and 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code.
