Where were you when I cried, Roja asks Bhuvaneshwari

Firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari assembly constituency R K Roja on Tuesday reacted strongly to the comments made by Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, that those who made her husband cry would pay a penalty for their sins.

“Naidu has already paid the penalty for making women cry during his regime. His party has been relegated to just 23 seats in the assembly. It is surprising that Bhuvaneshwari is talking about the incident which never happened,” Roja said.

Speaking to reporters at her constituency on the birthday of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Roja wondered where Bhuvaneshwari was when the TDP leaders attacked tehsildar Vanajakshi and humiliated her (Roja) at the women’s parliament.

“I was suspended from the assembly for a whole year. And I had cried in the assembly in front of everybody. What was Bhuvaneshwari doing then? Why didn’t she make any statement?” Roja asked.

She alleged that Bhuvaneshwari had never uttered a word when injustice was meted out to women during the 14-years rule of Naidu.

“If you think you will get recognition by talking great about women, you are under illusion,” she said.

The YSRC MLA criticised Bhuvaneshwari for cursing the YSRC leaders stating that they had humiliated her husband.

“Looking at the way you have reacted to the fake tears of your husband, it is very clear that Naidu will not hesitate to drag, not only his father-in-law NTR, but also his wife into the streets for his political mileage,” Roja said.

She claimed that the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government was women-friendly and was according a lot of respect to women by giving them suitable positions everywhere.

“This was never the case during the Naidu government,” she pointed out.
