Vijayasai Reopens Capital Shifting Issue

YSR Congress MP V Vijayasai Reddy had opened the controversial capital shifting issue once again in Visakhapatnam.

The MP interacted with the media persons in Visakhapatnam along with Agriculture Minister K Kanna Babu.

The MP affirmed that the administration would start functioning from Visakhapatnam, which was listed as the executive capital of the state by the YSR Congress.

He said that there was no constitutional objection to the place of working for the chief minister.

“The chief minister can work from anywhere and there are no restrictions on the place of work,” he said.

The MP further said that the cases pending in the high court on capital decentralisation would continue hearing.

He said that the government had started the work to shift the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam.

However, he did not give direct reply on the date when the chief minister sits in Visakhapatnam and starts working.

He also listed the number of developmental initiatives planned by the government for Visakhapatnam and asserted that the works would resume shortly.
