TDP To Hold Virtual Mahanadu For second Year!

TDP To Hold Virtual Mahanadu For second Year!

Ever since the Telugu Desam Party lost power to YSR Congress party in the most humiliating manner in 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh, it has become completely subdued.

For the last two years, the party has not been able to conduct even its Mahanadu, the annual party conclave held on May 27 and 28.

In the first year in 2019, the party did not hold Mahanadu due to the party’s defeat in the elections, since it fell immediately after the election results were declared.

In May 2020, the TDP held Mahanadu only through virtual mode using teleconference system due to Covid-19 pandemic. The party leaders participated in the Mahanadu half-heartedly.

This year, too, the TDP has not been able to hold the regular Mahanadu publicly, obviously due to second wave of Coronavirus. So, it has decided to hold the virtual Mahanadu for the second consecutive year.

A decision to this effect was taken at the politburo meeting of the TDP held by party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

“It would be held in a digital format like last year on May 27 and 28 due to prevailing Coronavirus situation,” the politburo said.

The politburo strongly condemned the 'illegal arrest' of party leader and Banaganapalli former legislator B.C. Janardhan Reddy and other leaders in the Kurnool district.

The ruling YSRCP goondas resorted to attacks near the house of Janardhan Reddy. The TDP has made police complaints but no action has been taken. On the other hand, false cases were filed against the TDP leaders.

The politburo condemned the house arrests of over 40 party leaders to prevent them from visiting the Covid hospitals to check the facilities there.

Instead of welcoming constructive criticism, the ruling party was using all suppressive and oppressive gimmicks to subvert justice to the people.
