TDP, BJP, Jana Sena on one platform soon?

Stage is set to be ready for Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party and Bharatiya Janata Party to come on to a common platform soon for a common cause, if not for an alliance for the next assembly elections.

The common cause for these three parties is Amaravati capital issue.

The Amaravati Joint Action Committee is planning to take out a Maha Padayatra from September 12, starting from Thullur in Amaravati to Arasavilli in Srikakulam district to highlight their demand for development of their area as the capital city.

As part of the plan, the Amaravati farmers have proposed to hold a big public meeting at Venkatayapalem village on September 12, when the agitation will complete 1,000 days.

The JAC has planned to invite leaders of all the political parties except, of course, the ruling YSR Congress party.

According to the JAC leaders, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan and BJP state president Somu Veerraju, along with other senior leaders of all the three parties would present on the dais and address the gathering.

The leaders of the three parties have already given their consent for attending the meeting, the JAC leader said. If it happens, it will for the first time that the leaders of the three parties would be sharing the same dais after nearly eight years.

It may be mentioned that all the three parties have extended their support to Amaravati capital cause and are bringing pressure on the Jagan government to complete the works in the capital region, as per the directions of the state high court.

Though it is too premature to say but the TDP sources feel that the meeting would be the first step in the direction of a possible alliance among the three parties in the coming days.

It is learnt a top BJP leader and a senior Union minister would attend the concluding public meeting at the culmination of the padayatra at Arasavilli on November 14.

“Needless to say, the three party leaders would have to speak in one voice on the stage and that will send a strong message to the people about the alliance,” the TDP leader hoped.
