TD leaders booked for complaining against minister!

Displaying more loyal than the king attitude, the Guntur (urban) police filed a criminal case against several Telugu Desam Party leaders, who went to the police station to lodge a complaint against YSR Congress leader and state minister Seediri Appala Raju.

The TDP leaders, including former MLA Tenali Sravan and senior leader Kovelamudi Ravindra, went to the Guntur (urban) police station on Wednesday evening to lodge a complaint against the minister, in retaliation to the complaint lodged against party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in various police stations.

They pointed out that Appala Raju also made the same comments in a television show, which were allegedly made by Naidu, on the new variant of Coronavirus that surfaced in Kurnool.

Since the police booked cases against Naidu, they demanded that similar cases should be booked against Appala Raju as well.

But on Thursday morning, the Guntur police booked a suo motu case against the TDP leaders under Sections 188 and 269, for allegedly coming to the police station in a group, thereby violating the Covid-19 norms.

The TDP leaders are now arguing that they have not violated any Covid-19 norms, while lodging the complaint. They wondered why the police booked cases against them, instead of the minister.

“Till now, the police have not taken up our complaint. It clearly shows the police are acting only on the directions of the YSRC,” the TDP leaders lamented.
