Sai Reddy meets Modi: What's up?

A day after leading a delegation of the YSR Congress party MPs to meet Union home minister Amit Shah to discuss the pending issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh, party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

“The Hon’ble PM Sri @NarendraModi was gracious enough to give me an appointment today to discuss important issues of the State of Andhra Pradesh, which @YSRCParty has been raising in the Winter Session of the Parliament,” Sai Reddy tweeted in the afternoon.

Sai Reddy said he had a detailed discussion (with Modi) on all pending issues. It is not immediately known whether he had met the Prime Minister alone or any other leader was there along with him. The photos he had shared on Twitter showed he was alone with Modi.

It is believed that the YSRCP general secretary might have discussed about the state financial position and the troubles being created by central funding agencies like Power Finance Corporation and Rural Electrification Corporation, which threatened to declare AP power utilities as bankrupt.

Along with the other issues, there is also a possibility that Sai Reddy might have sought the disqualification of rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who has become a virtual thorn in the flesh of the YSRCP.

On Wednesday, Sai Reddy along with other MPs met Shah and requested to look into the issues confronting the state, including early completion of Polavaram project, immediate financial assistance from the Centre to the flood-affected areas of the south coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, and revocation of the recently passed Food Security Act, which would do a lot of loss to Andhra Pradesh.
