Reddy Not Happy With Partial Victory Over Nimmagadda

Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy had seen partial victory over State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.

The High Court had given relaxation on Nimmagadda directions of confining him to his residence till February 21, the last day of the elections, for his utterances against the poll officials.

The court allowed him to move around, but upheld the SEC’s orders of no access to the media during these days.

The court wanted him to keep off from the media till the elections are completed.

Though he got a partial victory over Nimmagadda, the minister is understandably planning a big war against the SEC in the days to come.

The Minister is not happy with the SEC’s orders against him. He believes that the SEC is targeting him from the beginning.

The Minister is up in arms against the SEC for targeting him. He had already given a complaint to the Assembly Privileges Committee against the SEC for the latter’s remarks against him in a letter sent to the Governor.

The SEC, according to the Minister, had made highly objectionable comments against him in the letter, which were breach of his privileges as a member of Assembly.

The privileges committee had already taken up the issue and examining the case. It is likely to take a decision in favour of the minister.
