Ramachandrapuram scene repeats in Gannavaram!

The virtual rebellion in the YSR Congress party in Ramachandrapuram assembly constituency in Konaseema district seems to be repeating in other constituencies as well, where there have been groups within the party.

In Gannavaram assembly constituency in Krishna district, rebel YSR Congress party leader Yarlagadda Venkat Rao has turned a rebel on the lines of former minister and Rajya Sabha member Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose of Ramachandrapuram.

Yarlagadda said he would pitch himself as the YSRCP candidate in Gannavaram seat and request party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to allot him in the seat.

He declared that under any circumstances, there is no question of accepting the candidature of sitting MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.

“If the party decides to field Vamsi from Gannavaram, I shall quit the party and contest independently. There is no way we shall work for Vamsi in the next elections,” Yarlagadda said.

He, however, refuted the reports that he was in touch with the Telugu Desam Party and contest the next elections on the TDP ticket.

“I shall contest as an independent but would not join any party,” he said.

Apparently, Jagan has reportedly conveyed to Yarlagadda and other contender Dutta Ramachandra Rao that he would give the ticket only to Vamsi from Gannavaram.

Yet, the rebels are trying to bring pressure on the party leadership by threatening to quit the party and contest as independents.
