Pawan's Choice Now: Alliance or Revolt?

Pawan's Choice Now: Alliance or Revolt?

Currently, the TDP has identified approximately 75 candidates for assembly segments. The TDP intends for Jana Sena to contest 25 assembly seats and two MP seats.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan has been unable to secure a meeting to discuss the political developments in Andhra Pradesh and seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming elections with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Although the BJP asserts that Jana Sena is its alliance partner, there is a lack of clarity regarding its role in the ongoing TDP-JS alliance.

Pawan Kalyan is expected to visit Delhi on February 10 and engage in discussions with the BJP high command on crucial matters. Subsequently, a joint manifesto and the list of candidates for both LS and assembly seats will be announced in a phased manner based on these discussions.

With all this, Pawan Kalyan should have realized that the BJP is not inclined towards forming an alliance; otherwise, some constructive steps would have been taken by now.

However, it's evident that Pawan is helpless, knowing that he cannot take any action without the consent of the BJP due to their alliance.

In a sense, the BJP is not actively pursuing an alliance with TDP-JS and is also unwilling to release JS to align with any other party.

On the flip side, TDP is exerting pressure on the JS chief to bring BJP into the alliance, as that has been the longstanding expectation TDP held for years.

Consequently, Pawan Kalyan finds himself in a deadlock between TDP and BJP.

The only viable option for Pawan seems to be declaring a revolt against BJP and aligning with TDP. However, whether Chandrababu will agree to this remains a significant question, as he believes that a JS alliance without BJP support would yield little.

Despite BJP having minimal influence in AP, CBN is seeking the blessings of the high command with a formal alliance.

Alternatively, Pawan's second option is to align with BJP and distance himself from TDP, citing issues with seat allotment. However, this decision would result in Pawan losing the support of CBN from this point onward. Is he ready to lose it is another question.

It remains interesting to observe how these dynamics will unfold.
