Parakamani theft: ACB submits interim report

Parakamani theft: ACB submits interim report

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Andhra Pradesh police on Friday submitted an interim report to the state high court in connection with the sensational Parakamani theft case, detailing the assets of the prime accused, C V Ravikumar, and his family members.

ACB director general submitted the interim report to the high court, which said it would examine the contents in detail and pass appropriate orders at a later stage.

Significantly, the state high court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to examine whether there is a legal necessity to register an additional First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the Parakamani theft.

The court noted that, in light of established Supreme Court judgments, the circumstances of the case may warrant the registration of a fresh FIR.

During the hearing, the high court observed that while the investigation in the case is largely complete, certain aspects still require further inquiry.

The court emphasized that these pending elements must be thoroughly examined to ensure a comprehensive probe.

The high court posted the matter for further hearing on January 5, 2026. Legal sources indicated that a final decision on the ACB’s interim report is likely to be taken during the next hearing.
