Now, Magunta turns approver in Delhi liquor scam!

In a significant development in the Delhi liquor scam case, YSR Congress party MP from Ongole Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy on Friday turned an approver in the case, which is expected to take a curious turn now.

According to reports from New Delhi, Magunta has conveyed his decision to turn an approver to the authorities of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) who have been investigating the case for several months. 

He is expected to submit an affidavit under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the Rouse Avenue special court in New Delhi and seek permanent bail in the case.

Only recently, Magunta's son Magunta Raghava Reddy turned an approver in the Delhi liquor scam and submitted an affidavit to this effect. He was finally let out on bail, after the ED gave its consent for the bail.

Earlier, the Delhi court let off P Sarath Chandra Reddy, director of Aurobindo Group and relative of YSRCP general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy, after he turned an approver in the case.

Earlier in April, another accused in the case Gorantla Buchi Babu, former chartered accountant of Bharat Rashtra Samithi legislator and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha, also turned an approver and got the bail.

ED has already collected key information from 20 people in the scam.The investigating agencies are likely to speed up their investigation after the G20 meetings in New Delhi. 

The ED is investigating the transfer of money from Hyderabad to Delhi in connection with the scam. The developments could have a political impact in the wake of upcoming Assembly and Parliament elections in the next few months.
