Nimmagadda to become TDP working president?

Ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, which has been strongly resisting the attempts of state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to conduct local body elections in the state in February despite Covid-19 pandemic, has stepped up attack on him with pungent comments.

On Friday, YSRC general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy accused Nimmagadda of becoming a puppet of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and dancing to the latter’s tunes.

“If Naidu says no to elections, Nimmagadda cancels them. If Naidu wants elections, he announces the conduct of elections. It appears, the TDP cadre have more faith on Nimmagadda than Chandrababu Naidu,” Sai Reddy criticized.

He wondered whether Nimmagadda would join the TDP after his retirement and get a good position.

“There will be no surprise, if Nimmagadda becomes the working president of the TDP after the retirement. We doubt he might even take over the reins of the TDP by forcing Naidu to step down,” the YSRC general secretary observed.

Sai Reddy further alleged that Nimmagadda had utter disregard towards the Constitutionally-elected government.

“Everybody knows how Nimmagadda had held parleys with the TDP leaders in a star hotel. It is surprising on his part to decide on conduct of local body elections when the Coronavirus pandemic is at its peak,” he criticized.
