The reason as stated is the might of YSRCP that has completely rooted out the TDP from the state like it did with the Congress Party already.
As per the article, TDP would have lost in 2014 elections itself but as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy refused to make the loan-waiver promise for the farmers as it was not feasible, the party could win with a meagre 5 lakh vote majority in the entire state.
In this connection it was also mentioned a senior TDP leader saying, "Where is the doubt? We did escape from the jaws of defeat in 2014 Assembly polls”.
So, on a whole, TDP has lost its sheen and attention from the majority citizens despite its decades of heritage in AP politics.
