Naidu To Hold 'Zoom Mahanadu'

Naidu To Hold 'Zoom Mahanadu'

It is not just the first anniversary celebrations of the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh.

It is also the time for the biennial “Mahanadu” of the opposition Telugu Desam Party headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.

The TDP celebrates the party’s biggest conclave once in two years. In the three-day Mahanadu held from May 27 to 29, the party adopts several resolutions to be followed in the next two years apart from electing party president, politburo and various committees of the party.

Naidu had held the last Mahanadu in a big way at Siddhartha Engineering College premises in Vijayawada in 2018.

But by next May, he had lost power miserably to YSR Congress party. Though a “Mini Mahanadu” is held every year, the TDP chief did not hold it in May last because he had just lost power.

This time, the party is supposed to hold its biennial Mahanadu in a big way for three days, but because of Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions, Naidu is not a position to hold it.

In fact, he thought he would galvanise the party cadre which was demoralised due to loss of power last year. It would have given some boost to the party to sustain its fight for the next four years.

However, the Coronavirus has dampened the party’s spirit. Yet, Naidu wants to hold Mahanadu at least for record sake through Zoom Teleconference method. It is learnt he is planning to hold “Zoom Mahanadu” with 10,000 party workers.

A decision would be taken after discussing with the party seniors on the possibility of holding such online conference.

Naidu has been stuck up in Hyderabad due to lockdown and he is addressing his party workers and holding meetings with party workers only through Zoom Application. He even addressed press conferences through this technology.

It remains to been how the TDP chief will hold Mahanadu using Zoom app this time.
