Naidu to begin lobbying in Delhi again?

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to depart for New Delhi on Monday morning, accompanied by his family members, sparking speculation in the media.

Party sources indicate that Naidu's primary reason for the Delhi visit is to attend the wedding reception of senior Supreme Court lawyer Siddharth Luthra’s son at Hotel Regency on Monday evening. Naidu's wife, Bhuvaneshwari, will also accompany him to Delhi.

Siddharth Luthra has been a close friend of Naidu and has played a crucial role in handling the latter’s cases in the state, including securing bail from the state high court in the high-profile multi-crore skill development case.

Party insiders suggest that Naidu is scheduled to stay in Delhi until Tuesday before returning to Vijayawada to appear before the ACB special court. There, he will present his regular bail papers and medical report to secure bail in the ongoing skill development case.

Sources note that if Naidu's personal appearance is not required at the ACB court, and the papers can be submitted by his legal team, he may extend his stay in Delhi until the evening.

Notably, on Tuesday, the Supreme Court is set to hear the special leave petition filed by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government challenging the state high court's order granting bail to Naidu.

The Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice Bela Trivedi and Justice Satish Chandra Mishra, will take up the case while Naidu is still in Delhi.

Speculation suggests that Naidu's Delhi visit may involve lobbying with influential figures to ensure the Supreme Court rejects the Jagan government's petition.

Naidu is expected to have the opportunity to meet top judges and advocates of the Supreme Court during the wedding reception of Siddhartha Luthra’s son.

The presence of former Chief Justice of India N V Ramana at the reception might provide an opportunity for Naidu to seek support in resolving the skill development case.

Sources suggest, “There is no surprise if Ramana can help Naidu bail out of the skill development case.”
