Naidu may have to vacate Vundavalli house!

If the new government in Andhra Pradesh headed by YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has his way, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu may have to vacate his luxurious residence at Vundavalli on the banks of Krishna river.

Though Jagan cannot ask Naidu to vacate the house as it is a private residence owned by industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh, he is creating a situation that might force the TDP chief to move out of the house.

As part of that, the chief minister made his party leaders to submit a representation to chief secretary LV Subramanyam on Wednesday night to hand over Praja Vedika, just adjacent to Naidu’s residence at Vundavalli to the party.

A delegation of YSRC leaders led by Talasila Raghuram made a representation to the CS stating that Praja Vedika is ideally located to enable Jagan meet party leaders as well as common public regularly.

The YSRC leaders’ representation came within hours of the TDP chief writing a letter to Jagan requesting that he would like to retain Praja Vedika for his official use.

He asked the chief minister to declare the Praja Vedika as residential annexe of the leader of the opposition.

If Jagan wanted to consider Naidu’s request, he would have given permission to that effect. But by making YSRC leaders to represent to the chief secretary asking for the same Praja Vedika, Jagan sent a clear message that he is not willing to allow Naidu to use it.

Since the chief secretary cannot say no to the YSRC request, he will give permission to Jagan to use Praja Vedika.

And if that happens, it would be the most embarrassing scene for Naidu, as Jagan will come there daily to meet people and there will be definitely restrictions on the TDP leaders to come to Naidu’s residence.

Ironically, the YSRC leaders also indicated that Praja Vedika and Naidu’s residence could be declared as illegal constructions.

In the representation, they said they don’t mind dropping the request for its allotment, if the authorities demolish it as an illegal structure.

It would mean, Jagan has sent enough signals that Naidu’s house will also be demolished as it was built against rules.

So, Naidu will have to look for another residence for rent and go for the construction of a permanent residence closer to Amaravati, subject to permission given by the authorities.

Already, YSRC general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy ridiculed Naidu for not having a permanent residence in Amaravati.
