Naidu behind Sharmila entry into Cong?

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was the brain behind Y S Sharmila joining the Congress party, in an attempt to hit her brother and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy below the belt.

This was the open allegation made by YSR Congress party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Saturday.

He was echoing the suspicion raised by Jagan himself the other day that Naidu was creating rifts in the families for his political gains.

“Naidu is capable to doing anything. Even in the untimely death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, we had raised several suspicions, as Naidu was hand in glove with the Congress high command. He has always been in touch with the Congress leadership,” Sajjala said.

He pointed out that it was Naidu, who had colluded with the Congress party and got false cases foisted against Jagan.

“He knows how to get the things done without getting directly involved in the conspiracy. It was with the same conspiracy that he got Sharmila admitted in the Congress,” the YSRC general secretary said.

Sajjala, however, said Sharmila’s entry into the Congress would hardly have any impact on the YSRCP.

“There is no loss to us. She can contest from any constituency of her choice. She has the freedom to represent any party in any state,” he said, adding that the Congress had lost its relevance in Andhra Pradesh.
