Naidu Alleges Jagan Tapped JD's Phone!

Naidu Alleges Jagan Tapped JD's Phone!

After hitting the national headlines by writing a letter to PM Modi seeking a probe into the allegations of telephone tapping by the Jagan government, Chandrababu Naidu came up with fresh allegations on Tuesday.

The TDP chief said right from the beginning, the ruling YSRCP leaders had been indulging in tapping of telephones of their political rivals.

In the past, they had tapped the phones of former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation V V Lakshminarayana who had investigated into the alleged quid pro quo case against Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Now, even the phones of the doctors were being tapped. Eventually, the frontline warriors are afraid of lifting phone calls of even their patients for fear of receiving threats. The doctors are hesitating to come forward to give treatment to the Covid-19 patients out of fear of harassment from the ruling party,” Naidu alleged.

Surprisingly, the TDP chief found fault with Director General of Police Gautam Sawang for asking for proof on his allegations of phone tapping to monitor movements of Opposition, advocates, journalists and social activists in the State.

“Instead of initiating action to verify facts, the DGP wrote a counter letter seeking evidence. When I had written his letter to the Prime Minister, the AP DGP wrote the reply,” he said.

One wonders why Naidu was taking exception to the DGP asking for evidences. Naturally, the police boss expects that when a person of former CM’s stature makes an allegation, he must be having evidences.

“Naidu wants an inquiry into the telephone tapping charges. If he can share the evidences with the police, the inquiry will become easier. What is wrong in the DGP’s letter?” a political analyst asked.
