In yet another big relief to senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Union minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the Andhra Pradesh high court on Tuesday ordered that the Executive Officer and other officials of Maharaja Alak Narayan Society for Arts and Science (MANSAS) trust to follow his orders as he is the chairman of the trust.
The high court gave the direction while hearing a petition filed by Ashok Gajapathi Raju who approached the court stating that the EO and his staff were not following his directions, though he was reinstated as the chairman of the trust.
The high court also suspended the orders of the Executive Officer freezing the accounts of the trust. It ordered that the trust immediately pay salaries to the employees of the trust.
Asking the Executive Officer not to involve himself in the activities of the institutions being run by the MANSAS trust, the high court also dismissed the proceedings of the Executive Officer calling for the meeting of the trust board.
It said the Executive Officer had no role to play in the audit of the trust accounts, as it could be done by the district audit officers.
It asked the state government to file a counter on the formation of the trust board through GO No. 75.
The high court expressed his displeasure over the role of the executive officer of MANSAS trust in the trust activities.
“What is he supposed to do? Why is he not enforcing the directions of the court, reinstating Ashok Gajapathi Raju as the trust chairman?” the court asked.
Making it clear that the executive officer should read the judgement before issuing directions, the high court ruled that the he had no choice but to follow the directions of the trsut chairman AshoK Gajapathi Raju.
