KCR's poll message to party workers: What's up?

Even as the Enforcement Directorate was grilling Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in connection with Delhi liquor policy scam, her father and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dashed off an open letter to the party workers triggering wild speculations.

There is no rhyme or reason for KCR to write the letter at this stage because elections are least eight months away.

Assuming that he was giving a message to the party workers at the time of party’s foundation day, it is still more than a month away.

The tone and tenor of the letter indicates that KCR is preparing the party cadre ready for the next elections and this led to the speculations as to whether he would be contemplating early elections to the state.

But going by the timing of the letter, it comes at a time when Kavitha is caught neck-deep in the Delhi liquor scam and there were reports that she might be arrested any time. So, KCR wants to cash in on the development by asking the party workers to be ready for an early poll.

In his letter, KCR exuded confidence that the BRS would come to power once again in the coming elections, thereby scoring a hattrick. He said the Telangana people will not fall prey for the cheap politics of both BJP and Congress parties.

Since this was the election year, the onus was on the party workers to cautiously counter and expose the false propaganda of the opposition parties, the chief minister said. I

KCR said it was the responsibility of the party workers to strengthen the party further. He said he would be indebted to party workers for ensuring party’s grand victory in panchayats to parliamentary constituency elections in all these years.

“For other parties, politics is a game, but for the BRS, it is a task. Considering politics as a sacred duty to fulfill people’s aspirations, the BRS government has transformed Telangana as an index for welfare and development,” he said.

Holding Congress and BJP responsible for the poor development of the nation, he said both the parties lacked vision and commitment.

“To fill the void, the BRS set new agenda for the nation and embarked on a new journey to influence the national politics” he stressed.
