JC curses Cong, says bifurcation a big mistake

Known for calling a spade a spade, senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy has cursed the Congress party high command for the sorry state of affairs in both the Telugu states.

JC, who came to the Telangana Congress Legislature Party office on Tuesday, had a chitchat with his old colleagues like T Jeevan Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and declared that the Congress has absolutely no future in Telangana or AP.

“Everybody wants to become the chief minister here and quarrels with others. Where is the unity in the party? That is why the Congress can never come to power in the state,” he said.

JC recalled how he prevailed upon Congress president Sonia Gandhi not to divide the combined Andhra Pradesh. “But she did not listen. She told me to see how the Congress would flourish in both the states after bifurcation. See what happened?” he asked.

He gave a piece of advice to the Telangana Congress leaders.

“There is no point in crying for power in the state. It is better all the Congress leaders look for other occupations. Two years down the line, Bhatti Vikramarka and Jeevan Reddy would have to take to agriculture for their livelihood and Rajagopal Reddy will get a couple of contracts and continue his business,” Diwakar Reddy said.

He also predicted that the Congress will not win the ensuing by-elections to Nagarjunasagar if Jana Reddy contests the polls.

“Maybe, if his son Raghuveer contests, there is some chance,” he said.

JC also ruled out the possibility of formation of separate Rayalaseema.

“There is no scope for the separate Rayalaseema movement. There are no financial resources to carry the movement forward,” he said.
