Jagan To Rebuild Temples Demolished By Naidu!

The YSR Congress party government led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, which has been facing all-round attack from the opposition parties over the vandalism in various temples and desecration of idols of Hindu gods, is learnt to have quickly got into damage control mode.

The Jagan government is apprehensive that there is a possibility of Hindus turning against the party, as the Bharatiya Janata Party entered the scene to step up the movement.

It has realised that it is not enough to turn the tables on the Telugu Desam Party and blame it on former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for politicising the issue, as the issue has taken a communal colour.

While making an attempt to appease the Hindus by roping in spiritual leaders like Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and Swatmananda Swamy, the Jagan government has also come up with yet another idea to win over the Hindus.

According to sources, the Jagan government is planning to rebuild all the temples and other religious structures which were demolished for the road expansion programme in Vijayawada city during Krishna pushkarams.

The endowments department has come out with a list of 40 small and big temples and two Muslim places of worship on the banks of Krishna river in Vijayawada right from Ibrahimpatnam to Patamata and also on Vijayawada-Machilapatnam road, which were demolished for road widening during Krishna pushkarams.

“The government is planning to come out with a grandiose plan to rebuild all these demolished temples and other religious structures in more or less the same spots where they were there in the past. This will definitely help douse the anger of Hindus,” a source said.
