Jagan 'ready' for battle, where is Opposition?

Even while spending midnight oil on the selection of candidates amidst rebellion and disgruntlement among the leaders, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is ready for the challenge in the coming assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.

There is a lot of activity in the ruling YSR Congress party, as his party machinery as well its strategy team of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) have begun the preparations for the big battle.

The party has readied its poll  campaign with the single-word slogan – “Siddham” (ready), which Jagan is all set to kickstart from Bheemili in Visakhapatnam district on January 27.

All major hot-spots in the state have been adorned by one particular poster, hoarding or billboard which has a cinematic design. These publicity elements with Jagan’s picture in aggressive and confident posture have given the impression that Jagan is battle ready.

“It expresses his readiness to face any challenge, any unholy alliance, any conspiracy. This message is a clear departure from the usual, lengthy and monotonous political messages that are often seen during elections across India. This is something new and fresh, and has not been experimented / dabbled with too much in the past,” party sources said.

These hoardings have mushroomed in all major cities across Andhra Pradesh and are creating waves on social media, particularly among the youth who are aggressively sharing the design of the poster across platforms.

On the other hand, there is a complete silence in the opposition camp. The TDP and Jana Sena Party combine is yet to complete the process of selection of candidates and conclude the seat-sharing talks. Nobody knows where Naidu is and what Lokesh is doing.

One can see Pawan Kalyan sitting in Hyderabad and waiting for the leaders from other parties to join, as his party doesn’t have enough leaders who can match up to the strength and capacity of the YSRCP.

The joint manifesto, which was supposed to be announced a couple of weeks ago, is yet to take a shape. So, the Opposition is not yet ready for the battle!
