Jagan not getting proper briefing by his team?

Jagan not getting proper briefing by his team?

For the last few days, there have been several reports over the war of words between YSR Congress party MP from Rajahmundry Margani Bharat and party MLA from Rajanagaram Jakkampudi Raja, which has caused immense damage to the party in East Godavari district.

Both the leaders have been making allegations against each other on various issues including sand mining and local contracts.

The MLA even accused the MP of joining hands with TDP and BJP leaders, besides former Central Bureau of Investigation joint director V V Lakshminarayana, which the MP has denied.

However, inquiries revealed that the actual reason for the clashes between the two YSRC leaders is different – it is about a person of common interest, which everybody in the party is aware of.

Surprisingly, though the wordy duel between the two leaders was prominently highlighted by the media, party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is not aware of what is going on in the party in East Godavari district.

Reason: the CMO team, which gives a daily briefing to Jagan every morning on what is happening in the state and the news carried by various media, has chosen to keep him in dark over the goings-on in the party in East Godavari district.

“Being the chief minister of the state, Jagan is too busy to go through all the newspapers in detail. He goes through a couple of English dailies, besides Sakshi, quickly and doesn’t not have time to go deep into the inside pages,” a source close to the CMO said.

While Sakshi naturally doesn’t carry any negative reports about the YSRC, Jagan does not read other newspapers to know the other side.

“It is the responsibility of the CMO team to brief him about any negative reports, but these team members play safe by highlighting only positive news while briefing the chief minister,” the source said.

“It is only when the chief minister gets the briefing on any negative reports in the media, he will be able to know whether these reports are right or wrong. It will only help him to correct the lapses, if any, pointed out by the media. If the reports are wrong or malicious, too, Jagan will be able to counter the opposition effectively,” the source added.
