Jagan affirms to take oath as CM in Vizag

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally announced that he will be relocating to Visakhapatnam only after the state assembly elections in April.

"I assure you that after the elections, my residence will be in Visakhapatnam. Furthermore, my swearing-in ceremony for a second term as chief minister will also take place in Visakhapatnam," declared Jagan while addressing a meeting after inaugurating Cascading Skills Paradigm-Bhavitha at the Vizag Convention Centre in Visakhapatnam.

There has been speculation that Jagan would be moving to the port city sometime this week and residing in the newly constructed luxurious bungalows on Rushikonda hills on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam as a symbolic commencement of his operations, prior to the announcement of the election schedule.

The Jagan government has made all the necessary arrangements at Rushikonda hills for his accommodation. Additionally, a brand-new helicopter has been made available for him in Visakhapatnam. However, the official decision regarding Jagan’s relocation has not been made yet.

The chief minister emphasized the need for comprehensive development in Visakhapatnam, expressing his commitment to the same.

"The port city has been lagging behind due to the selfish politics of certain leaders and their supportive media. They have even resorted to legal actions to hinder the development of not only Visakhapatnam but the entire state," he alleged.

Jagan pointed out that thousands of acres of land in Visakhapatnam are in the possession of private individuals and their proxies.

"We will reclaim these lands and work towards developing Visakhapatnam as an economic powerhouse in the years to come," he assured.
