Jagan advisors get one more extension

YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday extended the term of four advisors to his government for a period of one more year.

Those who got the extension are: principal advisor Ajeya Kallam, advisor (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, advisor (communications) G V D Krishna Mohan and advisor (Navaratnalu implementation) M Samuel.

These four advisors, enjoying the cabinet rank, were the first to be appointed in June 2019 initially for a period of three years. Later, their term was reduced to two years and since then, they are being extension for one year each.

Among these four advisors, Sajjala has been enjoying all powerful position, playing a key role both in the government as well as the ruling YSRC. He is being considered next important person to Jagan in the party.

In fact, it was Ajeya Kallam who was calling shots initially, as every file pertaining to any appointment, decision or even transfer, was being sent to him. The party leaders and officials used to make a beeline to Kallam those days.

However, subsequently, Jagan had clipped the wings of Kallam as many other advisors have been appointed over a period of time. It is said Kallam is now just a nominal advisor in the government without any major functions to do.

At one stage, there was a talk that Kallam might not get an extension as the advisor, but for reasons known to Jagan, he was given yet another extension.

On other hand, Samuel also has been confined to Navaratnalu scheme; while Krishnamohan is a silent worker, restricted to working out communication strategies to the government.

The term of some more advisors will come to an end in a few months and they are also likely to get extension, unless Jagan has other ideas.
