Gudivada flyovers: Kodali warns Purandeshwari

Gudivada flyovers: Kodali warns Purandeshwari

Former Andhra civil supplies minister and Gudivada MLA Kodali Venkateshwar Rao alias Nani on Monday fumed at former Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Daggubati Purandeshwari for obstructing developmental works in his constituency.

Speaking to media, Kodali Nani said it was unfortunate that Purandeshwari was stalling the development of Gudivada, which was represented twice by her father and former chief minister late N T Rama Rao, using her influence in the BJP.

He said thanks to the initiative taken by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry, the Centre had sanctioned rail overbridge at Gudivada, which had been the long-pending demand of the people of the constituency.

“Even Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari also had laid foundation stone for the flyovers. But for the sake of a handful of local traders, Purandeshwari was trying to stall the construction of the flyovers,” he alleged.

Nani pointed out that the BJP general secretary had sought an appointment with Gadkari to stop the construction of flyovers.

“I tried to talk to Purandeshwari twice, but she was not accessible,” he said.

Warning Purandeshwari against interfering in the flyover construction, Nani said if she did not stop her silly attempts, she would have to face dire consequences.

“Having been a two-time MP and a Union minister in the past, she should know the consequences,” he said.

Threatening the BJP leader with severe repercussions, the former minister said if the flyover project was cancelled, he would stop all the trains passing through Gudivada.

“I will put up a tent on the tracks and sit in a dharna, till the Central government comes down on its knees,” he warned.
