Govt Will Protect Officers From Nimmagadda

The AP government will not take action against the officers that State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had recommended.

Government advisor, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, had hinted at protecting the employees from the ill-motivated and revengeful Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.

Nimmagadda had recommended action against two senior IAS officers, Gopala Krishna Dwivedi and Girija Shankar, accusing them of derelection of election duty.

Sajjala said that Nimmagadda had failed to get the voter list updated, in his fight against the government. To cover up this failure, Nimmagadda had shifted the blame on the IAs officers, he said.

Accusing the SEC of serving the interests of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and his attitude towards the government, including employees, Sajjala said that the SEC can only recommend action.

“The government would use its discretionary powers to decide whether to take action or not. The SEC cannot take action,” he said.

He also blamed Nimmagadda for targeting the government and the government employees as designed and dictated by the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

“Nimmagadda is not impartial. He is part of the larger conspiracy against the government. He is serving the political interests of Chandrababu Naidu and he deserves no respect,” Sajjala said with an affirmative tone.

Meanwhile, the State government had returned the orders to the SEC who sought disciplinary action against two IAS officers. The government said that the SEC had no authority to take action.
