Gandhi Tried To Escape With Fake Covid-19 Reports

Bollineni Srinivasa Gandhi, the former CGST assistant commissioner who is alleged to have accumulated illegal assets is arrested by the CBI police. He tried to escape the arrest by showing the fake Covid positive reports. 

Though he was named Gandhi, he kept away from truth. He tried to evade arrest but landed in Chanchalguda jail now. 

The CBI has registered a case against Bollineni Srinivasa Gandhi and his wife alleging that they have accumulated illegal assets worth Rs 3.8 Cr.

Gandhi was a former CGST commissioner and also worked in the ED (Enforcement Directorate)and DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence). 

CBI in a note said, “During investigation, we have issued notices under the provisions of Criminal Procedure Code. However, the accused did not cooperate with the investigation and also did not furnish requisite information or documents pertaining to the case.”

Gandhi has been remanded in judicial custody till the 7th of May and a bail may be granted then. 

Gandhi in his career has handled many high profile money laundering cases. He is also facing another CBI case of Rs 5 Cr bribery in association with Dep Commissioner of Service Tax Evasion, Chilaka Sudha Rani.
