There was a popular national-level political leader with his own party who created significant political upheaval until a few years ago. He has now slipped into near oblivion. Just think. Yes, it is Arvind Kejriwal.
He is the man who created a revolution in Indian politics by founding the Aam Aadmi Party and eventually rising to the position of Chief Minister of Delhi.
His party’s ideology and the distinctive white cap, along with the party symbol of the broomstick, became prevalent even in southern states as well.
But all of a sudden, he is seen nowhere. There is little or no mention of him in the media.
He became entangled in what appeared to be a relatively small corruption case, which damaged his image and, for now, seems to have stalled his overall political presence.
Politicians are generally immune to corruption charges in the sense that even if they are jailed or found guilty, they continue to present themselves with grit before the public and often manage to return to power.
However, Arvind Kejriwal appears to have suffered a major shock and has withdrawn from public appearances altogether. He is lying completely under the radar.
At present, the nation is firmly under the grip of BJP leadership, and any parallel political force has to face intense political maneuvering from the BJP. This is the open reality. Arvind Kejriwal stands as an example of this situation.
