Demand For Jr NTR's Entry Into TDP Again!

Demand For Jr NTR's Entry Into TDP Again!

Ever since the Telugu Desam Party faced a humiliating defeat in the 2019 assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, there has been a demand within the party somewhere and some time that popular Tollywood hero Junior N T Rama Rao should return to active politics and take reins of the party.

Whenever TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting of party workers both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh before the Coronavirus pandemic, there was a demand from the party workers to bring back Jr NTR to revive the glory of the party.

Even during his visit to Kuppam assembly constituency early this year, there was a demand from the local TDP leaders and cadre that Naidu should prevail upon Jr NTR to play active role in the party.

It is a known fact that Jr NTR, who played an active role in the TDP before 2009 assembly elections in combined Andhra Pradesh, was gradually ignored in the party.

NTR, too, realised that Naidu had used him during the elections and dumped him later, as the latter was trying to promote his own son Nara Lokesh.

So, he quietly focussed on his film career and is now among the leading actors of Tollywood.

Now that the 2019 elections proved Lokes a big failure and Naidu has started losing his energies, the demand for bringing Jr NTR is back to the fore in the TDP.

On Sunday, fans of Jr NTR erected a flag post and a banner at Mulakalapalli village of Kuppam, requesting that he should come back to active politics.

They have raised slogans in support of Jr NTR and wanted that he should take over the reins of the party at the earliest.
