Cop suspended for deflating TDP leaders' cars

A police constable, who was caught deflating the cars of the Telugu Desam Party leaders attending the party’s two-day conclave at Mahanadu at Ongole on May 27 and 28, was suspended on Wednesday.

The constable, identified as Yugandhar, was first taken out of his duty and sent on vacancy reserve on Tuesday, but on Wednesday, Prakasam superintendent of police Malika Garg after due inquiry, suspended the cop.

Yugandhar displayed more-loyal-than-the-king attitude while being on duty at Mahanadu and deflated tyres of the cars belonging to the TDP leaders at the parking site. His action was caught on camera by some media channels which telecast the same repeatedly.

As his overaction caused a lot of embarrassment to the YSR Congress party government, instructions were issued to the SP to inquire into the allegations and take appropriate action against Yugandhar.

The SP ordered an inquiry and after going through the video footage, she orders suspension of Yugandhar.

It may be mentioned that TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president K Atchannaidu alleged that the government and the police had created hurdles to Mahanadu and even warned the transport operators against giving buses to the people attending the event.

He said in the very beginning, the government had refused to give the stadium to Mahanadu. Later, they denied permission for RTC buses. The RTOs and brake inspectors called the private bus owners on the phone and warned them of serious action if they gave buses to the TDP leaders.

Atchannaidu thanked the farmers of Manduva Varipalem village near Ongole for giving their priceless lands for holding Mahandu. The farmers showed exemplary courage despite threats and warnings from the ruling YSRCP leaders.
