CID: TV5, ABN conspired against Jagan govt!

A day after the arrest of rebel YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju by the Andhra Crime Investigation Department (CID) police on charges of sedition, the First Information Report registered by the CID in Mangalagiri, has come out.

Surprisingly, the FIR also named two Telugu television channels – ABN Andhra Jyothy and TV5, along with Raju as the co-conspirators against the government. The CID police charged these two channels, known for their pro-Telugu Desam Party stand, with sedition.

The FIR said the CID authorities who made an enquiry into the hate speeches of Raghurama Krishnam Raju, found that they were telecast by various media channels and social media channels. He did not restrict himself to fair criticism of the government, but made every attempt to create hated, contempt disaffection towards the government.

“Not only has he done this through his words, he also used visual postures of face and hands to provoke his followers to take up violence. They are seditious in nature,” the FIR said.

The CID authorities said Raju had particularly targeted "Reddy ommunity and Christian community” and tried to stoke hatred against them by trying to portray that government had been favouring the two castes.

The FIR said two media channels - TVS and ABN Andhra Jyothy, by allowing pre-meditates and organised slots in their bulletins – have clearly shown that there was a meeting of minds of Raju with the heads of these media channels and all of them together conspired against the government.

All the speeches looked like a well-orchestrated conspiracy to create disaffection and to being contempt and hatred against the government by Raju and a few media groups. They also instigated disharmony in public by creating a feeling of hatred on the grounds of caste and religion.

The CID authorities, who arrested Raju on Friday, however, have not made any attempt to arrest the heads of the media channels – TV5 and ABN-Andhra Jyothy so far.
