Former minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham might not have succeeded in taking the Kapu reservation quota agitation to a logical end, but nobody would question his commitment to the cause.
He doesn’t hesitate to take a dig at his critics, particularly the Telugu Desam Party leaders and the “yellow media” supporting the party, in strongest terms.
His open letters always are strongly-worded, lashing out at the rivals in their sarcastic best.
On Wednesday, Mudragada wrote such an open letter to Andhra Jyothy managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna on his “open heart” talk with TDP legislator from Palakollu Nimmala Rama Naidu on Sunday.
Referring to the comment of Rama Naidu that Mudragada had done nothing for the uplift of Kapus, the former minister said: “Yes, I have not done anything for their uplift. I only fought for the education of the poor Kapu students and their employment opportunities through reservations. In your words, I am useless and inefficient,” he said.
Mudragada found fault with Radhakrishna for addressing the celebrities and leaders participating in the talk-show in singular number.
“You should learn from Ramoji Rao, chairman of Eenadu group in respecting the others,” he said.
He reminded how previous Andhra Jyothy chairman K L N Prasad had respected people and how he had hosted his father in Andhra Jyothy guest house in Vijayawada.
“When Prasad had contested the Rajya Sabha elections, my father had mobilised the support of 10 MLAs and got him elected,” he reminded.
“You were only a stringer or reporter of Andhra Jyothy those days, travelling on a bicycle or an old scooter. And everybody knows how usurped the company from Prasad and grew into a millionaire,” Mudragada said.
He also pointed out how Radhakrishna had allegedly got his black money converted into white by threatening gold shops when demonetisation was announced and how he had swindled money collected from readers for the surgery of conjoined twins.
Mudragada also pointed out that Radhakrishna was also responsible, along with two other senior officials, for the collapse of the Chandrababu Naidu government.
