APCID Questions Ramoji While On The Bed!

Eenadu Group Chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, who is also Chairman of Margadarsi Chit Funds Private Limited, fell sick on Monday and was being treated at his Jubilee Hills house in Hyderabad.

Ramoji Rao, who lives in his palatial house in Ramoji Film City, reported being sick on Sunday, a day before the AP CBCID was to question him and his daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran over financial mishandling at Margadarsi.

The CID had served notice to both Ramoji Rao and Sailaja Kiran last week to question them about the mismanagement of funds at Margadarshi.

The CID had already filed cases against Ramoji Rao, Sailaja, and others, making Ramoji Rao A1 and Sailaja A2.

The questioning reportedly continued for eight hours in the presence of an advocate and a legal advisor to the APCBCID.

The CID officials have reportedly obtained key information on the diversion of funds from Margadarsi to various other projects taken up by Ramoji Rao over the years.

It is alleged that Ramoji Rao had diverted public money deposited in the form of chits in Margadarsi and used it as capital for films and other businesses.

The CID officials have found evidence of fund diversion from various offices of the chit fund company in the state.

However, hours before the CID officials were to question him, the 87-year-old media baron reported feeling sick and went to his son's house.

During the late Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy's regime, Ramoji Rao faced police cases, but no one pursued him afterward.

Now, during Jagan Mohan Reddy's regime, the grand old man, who dictates terms to politicians in Andhra Pradesh, has been questioned by CID officials for the first time.
