The Andhra Pradesh had created history in Covid 19 vaccination in the country.
The state had crossed 1 crore vaccination mark on Tuesday, which is the highest among any states in the country.
According to the available information, there are 1,00,17,712 people have received two doses of vaccine by Tuesday.
The state had focused on giving two doses of vaccine to the people above the age of 45 years on priority.
Though the Central government had initially decided to give vaccine to all above the age of 18 years, the state could not go for it due to shortage of vaccine.
Earlier, the state had set a record by giving one lakh vaccines in a day and conducting more tests than any state in the country.
The state government had procured the vaccine from the two manufacturers in large numbers despite the Central government’s restrictions.
However, the plans to stop first doses and concentrate on giving second doses to those who have taken the first dose, paid rich dividends.
Though there are positive cases coming up every day and deaths reported across the state, the initiatives by the government had helped in bringing down these cases and deaths.
The toll free number of 104, where over 17,000 doctors have been providing tele counselling to the people, particularly those in home quarantine, had helped in creating awareness on the virus.
All these initiatives have helped the state to be ahead of other states in the country in dealing with the pandemic.
