Andhra minister enters film industry!

Film personalities entering politics is not a new phenomenon, but politicians entering film industry is very rare.

We have seen film actress R K Roja entering politics and making a mark for herself. She is now holding an important position in the Jagan Mohan Reddy cabinet.

Now, it is the turn of another minister in the Jagan cabinet to enter film field. But not as an actor, but as a producer.

She is state medical and health minister Vidadala Rajini, who represents Chilakaluripet assembly constituency.

According to reports in a section of media, Rajini is seriously contemplating producing a Telugu film. She has set up a production house in Hyderabad, where discussions are said to be going on for a new film.

It is reported that the story and screenplay for the film are ready and Rajini is said to be negotiating with a popular director and a hero to make the film. Apparently, it is a high-budget film with high production values, the reports said.

Rajani hails from Purushothama Patnam in Chilakaluripet studied in Hyderabad. A graduate from Osmania University, she shifted to the US to work in a company. Later, she turned an entrepreneur and returned to India.

She set up VR Foundation to take up social service activities such as provision of drinking water, scholarship to children and job opportunities to the youth.

Rajini made an entry into politics through the Telugu Desam Party in 2014 and defected to the YSRC in 2018. She contested from Chilakaluripet in 2019 elections and won the seat. She was inducted into the cabinet in April last year.
